Pokémon have personalities (Nature) and individual stats (IVs), which affect their strength.
Double Battles appear more often, requiring coordinated tactics.
Effort (EV) stats help train Pokémon in their own style.
You can catch Pokémon from both Ruby and Sapphire in the same game.
Battle Frontier is a new area, only available in Emerald. It consists of 7 arenas with separate rules, where you have to face extremely powerful Frontier Brains. This is the playground for those who have completed the main game and want to continue to challenge themselves.
